Vacation is winding down here on the Outer Banks for Lauren, Shaylee, Sunny and myself. We started in the Mountains of Western North Carolina 10 days ago. The weather was absolutely perfect as we camped in the Pisgah National Forest for 5 nights. You gotta love free camping right on a pristine river in the middle of nowhere! It was also our first time visiting Asheville. We really enjoyed the amazing food (Dustin the great beer) and local based economy and lifestyle. We will be going back soon!
After wrapping up a great week it was time to go surfing. We made the 8 hour journey East to one of my favorite places. The Outer Banks is one of our countries greatest treasures. It is filled with natural beauty and a very slow paced southern charm. We were met with the beginning swells from a distant tropical storm Isaac.
We have had 4 great days of swell and as the waves back off for the next few days it will be time for some last little bit of R&R before making our way back to St. Augustine via Wilmington to visit friends and family. We have lots of lessons scheduled for the fall, and even have an all moms surf camp scheduled for Saturday Sept 8th! We hope to see you in the water soon! Oh yeah Rex has been having a pretty awesome time too!
